CIRCOLIVE Inspires the Next Generation in Bologna
June 13, 2025, marked a special occasion where science, youth, and olive oil came together in a vibrant atmosphere at the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences, Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna. The event, titled “Sips of Science – One Too Many Suns”, was part of a larger initiative dedicated to public science communication and youth engagement—and the CIRCOLIVE project was proud to be part of it.
More than just a celebration, the event served as an interactive platform for young students preparing to embark on their academic journeys. Through hands-on activities, visual presentations, and open discussions, attendees explored key themes of the CIRCOLIVE project—chief among them, the transition to a circular economy in the olive oil sector.
Participants discovered how sustainability and innovation can transform by-products and waste into valuable resources, creating a greener and more efficient value chain. Even the youngest visitors had a chance to engage with these ideas, demonstrating that scientific thinking and environmental awareness can start early and grow with the right inspiration.
The presence of CIRCOLIVE at the event reaffirmed its core mission: connecting knowledge, practice, and people. The project team extends heartfelt thanks to all the tutors, facilitators, and in particular Professor Enrico Valli, whose dedication and leadership made this initiative a success.
Events like “Sips of Science” illustrate the importance of fostering a culture of sustainability and curiosity in future generations. CIRCOLIVE remains committed to contributing to this journey—one olive at a time.
