Local Dissemination Activities - 10th Zagreb Olive Festival - Croatia

Local Dissemination Activities

On Saturday, April 5, 2025, the CIRCOLIVE project was proudly featured at the 10th edition of the Zagreb Olive Festival in Croatia. Dr. Karolina Brkić Bubola and Iva Pastor from the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism took the stage to present the project’s objectives, ongoing activities, and preliminary research results to an engaged audience.

The Zagreb Olive Festival is a well-established event organized by the Zagreb Olive Institute. It offers a rich program including guided olive oil tasting workshops, cosmetic product demonstrations, exhibitions, and educational lectures focused on olive cultivation and olive oil production. The festival serves as a vibrant platform for sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration between experts, producers, and the wider public.

During the CIRCOLIVE presentation, attendees gained insight into the project’s mission to support sustainability in the olive oil sector. The discussion highlighted the importance of promoting circular economy models that focus on the valorisation of waste and by-products throughout the olive oil value chain.

Funded by the European Union, CIRCOLIVE contributes to the EU’s broader transition towards a circular economy, working across five key countries: Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, and Croatia. Its presence at the Zagreb Olive Festival reflects its commitment to outreach, education, and sector-wide innovation.
